Arjun Rampal
He was born 26 November 1972 and he is an Indian film actor, producer, model and a television host. Through his career in Bollywood movies, he has established himself as a leading actor of Bollywood. He made his acting debut in the 2001 romance Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat portraying the role of a model. Rampal was appreciated for his performance and received several awards for his work in the movie including a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. He starred in the 2002 drama"Dil Hai Tumhaara" as a rich business man and a faithful lover and a killer in the 2003 romance drama Dil Ka Rishta and received a lot of praise & critical acclaim in the 2004 action thriller Asambhav and in the 2005 mystery thriller Yakeen. Rampal got his breakthrough in Don (2006). He achieved further commercial success in films including Om Shanti Om (2007), Rock On!! (2008), Housefull (2010) and Ra.One (2011) all which fetched him numerous awards.
In his decade-spanning career, Rampal has won numerous awards and nominations. He has won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor and the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actor for Rock On....
Rampal established his production company Chasing Ganesha Films. He became a film producer with I See You (2006) under his banner and played the lead role. Outside of acting, Rampal has been involved in other business ventures. He has launched Lost Festival through association with Percept Limited.
His life
Arjun Rampal was born in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, to Amarjeet Rampal and Gwen Rampal. Arjun along with his sister attended the St Patrick school situated at Deolali in Maharashtra, where his mother was a teacher. The factory has a special gun named after his grandfather. The gun is named ‘Gurdayal Gun. The actor, who turned producer with I See You (2006) says, "Both my paternal and maternal grandfathers were in the army but my maternal grandfather Brigadier Gurdayal Singh designed the first artillery gun for the Indian army post-independence.
Career
Rampal made his acting debut in Rajiv Rai's Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat (2001) opposite Sunil Shetty, Aftab Shivdasani and Kirti Reddy. Rampal gave a show stealing performance and earned all the attention. He earned critical acclaim for his performance in the movie.Taran Adarsh of indiaFM wrote "Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat is a showcase for Arjun Rampal to exhibit his talent. The guy looks dashing and emotes with utmost sincerity. He's handled the emotional moments with maturity, which is so rare for a first-timer. A confident debut! His next release was Ashu Trikha's Deewaanapan, in which Rampal was paired with Dia Mirza. Personal life
Arjun Rampal married former Miss India and supermodel Mehr Jesia and they have two daughters, Mahikaa, born on 17 January 2002 and Myra, born June 2005.He was first spotted by Rohit Bal in a night club who went on to showcase him in his collections and Arjun stayed with him before making a move to Mumbai.
